The Matrix run in late November early December 1966 were exceptionally well recorded given the early stages of live taping;

there are 2 versions of the December 1 Matrix show, one by Charlie Miller; it's hard to say which one is the better version...
what do others say is the best of the 2?

(upgrade)

(CM)

all (3) sound purty good to me,
though the November 19th Fillmore show is given higher marks and the most recommendations for late 1966 GD shows.

on 11/29, was there an early & late set? i ask because Viola is played twice, at least on the version i have; also, what is your assessment of the sound on 12/1? i find it unlistenable; great performance undoubtedly, but horrible audio

is the CM 12-1-66 version any better tho?

yes, 12-01 is a bit too rough for comfort, especially compared to 11-19, 11-29;
and certainly compared to some of the other 1966 gems that have recently turned up (1966 Rarities & Oddities, Birth of the Dead, Uncirculated Primal GD GEMS) for the 1st time or with improved sound...
